Sicomin announces Ken Marcovich as new CEO

After successfully leading the expansion of Map Yachting, Ken Marcovich, the elder son of the Marcovich family, is now stepping into the role of CEO at Sicomin. He succeeds his father, Philippe Marcovich, who has led Sicomin for 42 years, transforming the company into a global leader in epoxy resin systems and advanced composite materials.

With this transition, Philippe - who will still oversee Sicomin as President of the company - will have more time to focus on his other ventures ACCWING and MAXCORE in collaboration with Sam Marcovich, Ken’s younger brother. These two projects will be showcased at JEC World 2025.

Ken, who has a strong background in sustainable development, environmental sciences, and sustainable procurement, has always been deeply connected to Sicomin’s mission from a young age. His commitment to bio-sourced products has been a key focus throughout his career.

Ken is fortunate to continue receiving his father’s unwavering support in the years ahead, and with great enthusiasm, he looks forward to advancing the company’s legacy and its commitment to sustainability.

Large composite project for the Mataf ceiling in Mecca

Sicomin, a global leader in the production of epoxy resins, proudly announces its role in a collaboration with Premier Composite Technologies (PCT) for the Mataf extension at the Holy Mosque of Mecca, KSA. The project incorporates extensive uses of composite materials in architecture, with the Mataf Ceiling - a structure spanning 216,800 square metres - at its core.

MEL Composites delivers advanced hull infusion for Técnico Solar Boat’s hydrogen-powered São Gabriel 01

MEL Composites has reinforced its partnership with Técnico Solar Boat through the successful hull infusion of the São Gabriel 01, an 8m long, 2.4m wide, hydrogen-powered hydrofoiling vessel. Designed to compete at the Monaco Energy Boat Challenge in July 2026, the São Gabriel 01 is the team’s most technically demanding project to date and showcases the future of sustainable marine engineering by combining advanced composite manufacturing with clean energy systems.

JEC World 2026 reveals the list of finalists for the Innovation Awards

Each year, the JEC Composites Innovation Awards recognize collaborative, innovative, and ambitious projects that illustrate the potential of composite materials. Created in 1998, this benchmark program aims to identify, promote, and reward the most innovative composite solutions worldwide. In 28 years, the JEC Composites Innovation Awards have attracted more than 2,200 participating companies from around the world. A total of 269 companies and 811 associated partners have been recognized for the excellence of their innovations.
