Tonello completes the Laundry (R)Evolution and redefines what’s next

At this year’s Kingpins Show in Amsterdam, Tonello proudly presents the final chapter of its Laundry (R)Evolution: a bold vision of the laundry of today and tomorrow made simple, digital and responsible. At the heart of this transformation is THE Laser 2.0, the new intelligent, designer-driven laser technology that delivers faster marking with greater accuracy, eliminating human error and streamlining the creative process.

Completing this innovative ecosystem is the All-in-One System, Tonello’s most advanced washing machine, which integrates four sustainable technologies to minimize resource use while maximizing efficiency.

Adding the final strategic piece to the process chain is the debut of Tonello’s new line of dryers, developed and manufactured entirely in-house. This latest innovation features eight models, designed to meet every production need. Engineered for energy efficiency, these dryers feature high-permeability drums for faster drying, optimized airflow for reduced consumption, and inverter-controlled transmission systems that adapt to custom recipes.

All models are also compatible with Heat Pump integration, for significant improvements in energy efficiency and emissions reduction compared to traditional heating technologies.

To bring this vision to life, Tonello will showcase a collection produced using this fully integrated system. For each garment, Metro provides transparent, real-time data on water and energy usage, as well as carbon footprint: authentic metrics for a truly responsible approach.

Alongside this, a special collection entitled "Engineered Illusions" spotlighting THE Laser 2.0 will demonstrate laser-only finishing effects that faithfully replicate traditional treatments like washing effects, textures, creases, and ozone fading, expanding creative potential with a reduced impact.

In the field of dyeing, Tonello introduces the evolution of its Sulfur Essence collection, powered by DyeMate: the world’s first indigo garment dyeing system, suitable also for sulfur and VAT dyes. The new collection features innovative blends of sulfur and indigo in the same bath, followed by bold and intense washes and finishes, even on unexpected fabrics, taking garment dyeing to the next level.

Finally, visitors can explore THE BOXES, where Tonello unveils the latest chapter of its traveling project, DENIM RENAISSANCE: The Beauty of Time. A tribute to both history and technology, this collection redefines denim as a relic of artistic and natural transformation. It is denim as you’ve never seen it before: refined, raw, and timeless.

New study shows low environmental impact by Cotton made in Africa Organic Cotton from Tanzania

Today, the Aid by Trade Foundation (AbTF) is announcing the results of a comprehensive life-cycle analysis (LCA) for cotton produced in Tanzania under the Cotton made in Africa Organic (CmiA Organic) standard. The study emphasises the small ecological footprint of CmiA Organic verified cotton. This can largely be traced back to the absence of synthetic pesticides, artificial fertilisers, and artificial irrigation. Consequently, CmiA Organic cotton can help the textile industry meet regulatory requirements as well as science-based targets. The results also show that the consequences of climate change threaten the livelihoods of these cotton farmers, even though the type of agriculture they practise barely contributes to climate change.

PERFORMANCE DAYS proves its relevance as the industry’s key meeting point

Held on March 18–19, 2026, PERFORMANCE DAYS once again confirmed its position as a leading international platform for functional textiles. A total of 3.366 trade visitors and around 560 exhibitors gathered in Munich, with the event already kicking off successfully on DAY 0, which received highly positive feedback for its interactive format. Despite challenging conditions caused by the public transport strike in Munich, the event saw strong attendance and a consistently high level of activity across both exhibition days.
