Express Print boosts production using an expanded fleet of Mimaki technologies

The Bulgarian provider of indoor graphics and OOH advertising adds to its Mimaki-powered production line to expand into customised apparel, customised merchandise, rigid media, and interior décor

Express Print uses Mimaki's large format printing technology to boost and diversify production of soft signage, customised garments, and advertising displays.
Express Print, a fast-growing Bulgarian provider of visual communication and soft signage solutions, has significantly enhanced its production workflow with a comprehensive portfolio of Mimaki digital printing systems. Based in Varna and active for more than 10 years, the company maintains a strong focus on the advertising sector. Over the years, it has steadily expanded its operations, driven by a clear vision to bring the full spectrum of large-format printing services in-house, avoiding outsourcing and ensuring complete control over production quality.

As part of this strategy, Express Print has gradually expanded its Mimaki fleet to support its diversification across rigid, flexible and textile applications. Today, the production floor features a UCJV330-160 for high-quality UV-LED roll-to-roll graphics, a TxF300-75 for DTF printing, the JFX200-2513 EX and JFX500-2131 UV-LED flatbed printers, as well as the UJF-6042 MkII e and the UJV55-320 systems for high-precision object and signage wide format printing. This fully integrated Mimaki operation allows Express Print to deliver a wide range of products – from indoor and outdoor visual communication to promotional banners, customised garments, sportswear, and merchandising.

“Our job is to print, and we wanted to print with the highest quality and with the highest speed possible,” explains Dimitar Lyubenov, Production Manager at Express Print. “Our previous setup struggled to achieve the level of quality and colour consistency required by our customers, especially for sign graphics and visual communication applications, and we needed more reliability for continuous production. After reviewing the technologies available on the market, we chose Mimaki. Their printers immediately delivered the quality, speed, finishing capabilities and stability we were looking for.”

Expanding Sign Graphics capabilities with new roll-to-roll and DTF systems

The two most recent additions – the UCJV330-160 unit and the TxF300-75 have been crucial to the company’s latest phase of growth. The UCJV330-160 has significantly strengthened Express Print’s Sign Graphics digital printing capabilities. Its print quality, versatility across films and banner substrates, and reliable performance have made it a core solution for the company’s indoor and outdoor communication products. The printer also supports fast turnaround times — a critical factor for Express Print’s customers – thanks to its efficient workflow and stable operation.

At the same time, with rising demand for short-run garment customisation and on-demand promotional textiles, Express Print installed Mimaki’s TxF300-75 to achieve faster throughput and greater colour accuracy in DTF applications. The system quickly enhanced apparel production efficiency, providing clean ink performance and consistently vibrant results, even on detailed fabric graphics or urgent jobs.

The JFX200-2513 EX and JFX500-2131 UV flatbed digital printing systems also remain essential for rigid media and custom merchandising, enabling high-quality reproduction on a wide range of materials. These systems continue to support the company’s expansion in customised panels, décor elements, indoor and outdoor posters.

Building a cohesive, reliable Mimaki ecosystem

Express Print’s relationship with Mimaki began seven years ago, when they purchased their first CJV300-160 print-and-cut system, followed by a CG-FXII cutting plotter. The move was driven by the need to eliminate recurring technical issues and inconsistent output from their previous printers. Since then, the company has continued to grow its Mimaki large format printing line-up, driven by customer feedback that consistently praises the quality and cleanliness of the prints, as well as the absence of banding.

Having exclusively Mimaki large format digital printing machines has also simplified day-to-day operations. Shared software, colour management, and workflows ensure seamless transitions between jobs and reduce training time for operators. Whether producing customised garments, soft signage, rigid displays, small-format promotional items or large-format décor panels, Express Print benefits from the predictability and synergy of a unified Mimaki environment. “We know exactly what we get,” adds Yordanov. “Colours remain stable from the first print to the last, and we can handle high volumes or last-minute requests without disrupting the workflow. It has completely changed the way we organise production.”

Express Print’s relationship with Mimaki is supported by Lazar Panov, Managing Director at Geko Comert, Mimaki’s distributor for the region. “Geko has been guiding us throughout our journey – from choosing the right models to installation and training with their excellent customer service,” comments Nikolay Boev, Founder and CEO at Express Print. “Today, we are extremely happy with the performance of all our Mimaki printers. They help us deliver the quality our customers expect, and that quality brings new customers to us through word of mouth. For us, this is the best proof that we made the right choice, and we are open to consider our future investments.”

Commenting on the long-standing partnership, Arjen Evertse, Director Sales at Mimaki Europe, notes: “Express Print is a great example of how a well-integrated Mimaki lineup can support a company’s growth across multiple applications. By combining our UV-LED flatbed systems, DTF, and direct-to-object technologies within a single operation, they can work more efficiently, respond quickly to customer needs, streamline in-house production, and explore new business opportunities with confidence.”
