Eastman Naia™ brings the SEEDS theme to life at PREFACE LA

A fabric art installation featuring Naia™ fibers explores how nature, materials and creative ideas grow through collaboration.

Eastman Naia™ is participating in PREFACE LA, taking place July 29–30, to present applications of its filament yarn and staple fiber across fashion and denim.

Presented by Here/After and Denim Dudes, the event brings together fiber, fabric, denim and manufacturing specialists for two days of sourcing, conversation and industry exchange. For Naia™, it is an opportunity to connect with both the wider fashion sector and Los Angeles’ denim community, showing how its fiber portfolio can support different aesthetics, constructions and end uses.

Naia™ is also contributing to a fabric art installation inspired by SEEDS, the seasonal theme developed by BREW Creative. SEEDS draws a parallel between the seed of a plant and the seed of an idea. Both hold potential that can take shape when the right conditions allow them to grow. In fashion, that potential begins with fibers, yarns, fabrics and the people who transform them into new applications and forms of expression. The theme also reflects how materials and ideas move across the industry. Through touch, exchange, discovery and collaboration, they travel between makers, suppliers, designers and markets until they find the right place to develop.

At PREFACE LA, this concept takes physical form through an installation created with fabrics made with Naia™ fibers. Printed fabric streamers extend through the event space, inviting visitors to experience the material through movement, light and scale.

The installation connects the natural origins of Naia™ fibers with the creative processes that give materials new meaning. Made from sustainably sourced wood pulp, Naia™ fibers provide a starting point that designers, mills and manufacturers can translate into different fabrics, applications and visual outcomes. Like a seed, a fiber carries potential, but its final form takes shape through the expertise, ideas and relationships built around it.
