BASF strengthens liquid enzyme portfolio for the laundry and cleaning industry

By expanding its product portfolio for liquid enzymes, BASF is further strengthening its position as an innovation leader and provider of essential ingredients for the home care and I&I industry.

Thanks to an outstanding innovation pipeline and extensive expertise, BASF has continuously expanded its enzyme know-how in recent years. With the addition of a lipase, cellulase, and amylase to its offerings, BASF now provides a comprehensive range of all liquid enzyme types, meeting the high demands of its customers for high-quality and high-performance enzymes for various applications. "The expansion and integration of these enzyme types into our first-class product portfolio allows us to collaboratively develop sustainable and high-performing solutions for laundry formulations with our customers," says Gisela Pinheiro, Senior Vice President Home Care and I&I Cleaning at BASF.

Lavergy® L Pace is a liquid lipase that offers superior fat and oil stain removal at low temperatures, while Lavergy® C Care is a liquid care cellulase that provides best-in-class fuzz and pills removal, enhancing the look and feel of cotton and cotton blend fabrics. Lavergy® C Care is highly stable, even in the presence of proteases. The amylase Lavergy® A Star is a biodegradable enzyme solution that effectively removes starch stains, providing a deeper clean, even at low temperatures.

Building on our enzyme portfolio, in 2023 BASF has already launched Lavergy® M Ace, a mannanase. This enzyme delivers efficient results at low temperatures and short wash cycles, particularly for stubborn stains from guar gum and locust bean gum, which are commonly found in processed foods such as dressings, sauces, soups, ice creams, and desserts. Utilizing Lavergy® C Bright, a cleaning cellulase, formulators can add anti-redeposition functionality to their cleaning formulations and help maintain whiteness and brightness of cotton and cotton blend fabrics, even when washing with cold water. In addition, with the protease types Lavergy® Pro, BASF established itself in the enzyme market in 2016. Lavergy® Pro types are high-performance alternatives for liquid detergents and are effective even at low wash temperatures. These enzymes excel at removing stains from eggs, blood, and milk.

With the expansion of its liquid enzyme portfolio and a premium selection of performance ingredients, BASF provides its customers with an even broader range of ingredients to optimally meet the requirements and challenges of the laundry industry.
