Freudenberg Performance Materials will present its Filtura® filter media for demanding industrial filtration applications at Filtration & Separation Asia (FSA), taking place from November 18 to 20, 2026, in Shanghai, China. The focus will be on pleatable filter media for air pollution control (APC), designed for applications including metal processing, lithium-ion battery material production and recycling, and metal additive manufacturing.

Visitors can meet Freudenberg Performance Materials at Booth R20 in Hall 1 of the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Center.

PET-based filter media for industrial dust collection

The Filtura® filter media are based on polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and combine mechanical rigidity, pleat stability and high tear resistance. Depending on the requirements of individual applications, additional functional properties such as antistatic or flame-retardant treatments can be incorporated.

The materials are designed for industrial dust collection systems operating under demanding conditions, including metal processing, the manufacture and recycling of lithium-ion battery materials, and metal 3D printing.

Reduced compressed air consumption and extended service life

A customer comparison conducted in the metal processing industry demonstrates the potential operational benefits of the filter media.

According to Freudenberg, replacing a conventional cellulose-blend filter medium with a PET-based Filtura® filter medium incorporating an expanded polytetrafluoroethylene (ePTFE) membrane resulted in longer intervals between filter cleaning pulses.

This reduced compressed air consumption by approximately 20 percent. At the same time, the service life of the filter cartridges was extended by up to three months.

These improvements can contribute to lower operating costs and reduced maintenance requirements in industrial dust collection systems.

Additional solutions for air and liquid filtration

Alongside its Filtura® products for air pollution control, Freudenberg Performance Materials will showcase further solutions from its air and liquid filtration portfolio.

These include spunbond nonwovens for HVAC applications in semiconductor manufacturing, antibacterial filter media for swimming pool and spa applications, and additional Filtura® solutions for industrial filtration.

The company's presentation at FSA 2026 highlights the role of engineered nonwoven materials in improving filtration performance and operational efficiency across a range of industrial applications.
